Josh Taylor, CMC Josh Taylor is a founding partner of The Context Group in 1993. The Context Group specializes in helping firms improve Supply Chain performance by integrating strategy, processes and technology. Mr. Taylor specializes in the areas of supply chain strategy and supply chain operations improvement. He has served over 75 clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturers, retailers and suppliers to the following industry segments: Consumer Products, Industrial Suppliers, Retail & Leisure, & Services, and financial investors in due diligence assessments. He has developed a comprehensive process for the Supply Chain Audit that enables clients to very quickly understand where there are gaps in their supply chain strategy or performance. Mr. Taylor also developed one of the earliest applications of a dynamic inventory model to determine the optimum inventory level based on marketing variables (product line, policies, & service goals), product lead times, process constraints, and the real cost of inventory. Clients have used this model to evaluate supply chain strategies and improve their supply chain performance. As the supply chain and logistics practice of The Context Group has grown, he has added strong experienced associates and has assisted clients reduce transportation cost, develop the optimum distribution network strategy, and implemented advanced transportation management systems. Prior to founding The Context Group, Mr. Taylor was a senior partner with Kurt Salmon Associates. He was responsible for developing KSA's management consulting practice in the textile industry and managed the firm's information systems practice. He developed seminars and has authored articles on strategic planning, supply chain management, activity based costing, and establishing benchmarks for inventory management and SG&A costs. Mr. Taylor received a B.A. degree from Yale University.
He is past president of the Atlanta chapter of the International Society
for Strategic Management and Planning, and a member of the Association
of Production and Inventory Control (APICS). He has served on the board
of Atlanta Technology Angels, an Atlanta-based group of investors in
early stage technology companies.
