John Caldwell

John Caldwell has extensive experience in manufacturing and distribution. With businesses’ rapid transition to high quality, quick response manufacturing and distribution, Mr. Caldwell's experience in creating and implementing innovative methods and systems has resulted in high value contributions for numerous companies.

He has significant hands-on involvement in the establishment and training of quick response work teams. Mr. Caldwell also has a deep understanding of international business and manufacturing resulting from heavy involvement in offshore manufacturing and from several years' residence in Europe, Asia, and Africa while implementing and managing consulting projects.

Recent work as an examiner for the Tennessee Quality Award® has resulted with deep familiarity with the Baldrige National Quality Award® criteria and how organizations use the criteria to achieve best business practices.

Before joining The Context Group in 1998, Mr. Caldwell managed the technical functions of two major career apparel manufacturers. During these eleven years of his career, he gained in depth understanding of the critical needs of customers' requirements for high product quality and value, unique style customization, and maximum service levels. This enabled Mr. Caldwell to became expert in quick response manufacturing, converting manufacturing response times from as many as seven weeks to two or three days.

Prior to 1987, Mr. Caldwell was a Principal with Kurt Salmon Associates, serving as an international project implementation specialist, technical director of the firm, and project manager of numerous facility re-engineering and start-up projects. He has knowledge of a wide variety of product sectors.

Mr. Caldwell earned an M. B. A. degree from Emory University and possesses a B. S. in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech.

He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) and a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). He has basic knowledge of the Spanish and French languages.
